01
Four prices, one session
A daily candle records the opening, highest, lowest, and closing prices for one completed trading session. Its body shows the space between open and close. Its wick shows how far prices travelled before the session ended.
02
Green, red, and doji
A green candle closes above its open. A red candle closes below its open. When the open and close are equal, it is a doji. Those labels describe one session only; they do not describe what the next session must do.
03
Read the surrounding sequence
A single candle becomes more useful when viewed beside preceding candles, price levels, volume, and the time horizon you are studying. Avoid assigning meaning to a shape before checking the context around it.
